Help Overclock E6600/Asus P5B

Geil 6400 Ultra low

I want too try and get around 3GHZ on this little beauty....Can someone please give me some tutorial on how too and which settings too change in the BIOS so i can achieve 3GHZ. Also how too get the RAM running on 1.1.

Ok just installed the Asus AI suite Utility..I did set it for 2.8GHZ but when it rebooted the pc it only come up as 2.52.

Well i can't work this Asus AI software out at all.

I set it too 2.8GHZ...FSB on 667....Ram ratio on X8 but when it reboots it keeps putting it back too 2.52GHZ ....280 x9.

Can anyone give me any advice on what too do in the BIOS instead of using this unwanted software.

Here are the results....Though the only changes i made were setting the CPU Frequency too 366 and set some of the others on Auto.

The CPU Fan is red on here because the fan is unplugged.

Does that look any better too any of you?

CPUZ is reading it @ 2.92GHZ but when i click on properties on my computer it's reading it as

Ok i just started Orthos up to do a test and it failed after 11 seconds.

Whats the problem here then?

First you need most up to date BIOS and get rid of the asus **** suite, ****ed up my overclock once POS.

Then set as this thread:

Then:

FSB: 400
DRAM Freq: 800
CPU V: 1.375V
Mem V: 2.15V
FSB Term: 1.3V
NB V: 1.55V
SB V: 1.5V

Watch the temps using Core Temp!!

Right m8 just set all the those settings you told me and here are the results.

Failed after 2 seconds this time.

Right just tried too run a CPU test on both CPU's and it rebooted after about 3 seconds. I am not going too bother anymore with trying too overclock the CPU all i want too do now is get the specified timings on the RAM.

Can you tell me how too do this please m8 because everytime i try and do it manually it just goes back too this.

Can anyone help me get my RAM too stay at its Specific settings...they just won't stay @ 4.4.4.12....Without OC the CPU.

They wont do 4-4-4-12 @ 2.15V?

Also try more CPU V, 1.4 or 1.425V to solve the 400x8 issue.

No they wont m8 everytime i set it manually it just reverts back too after the reboot.

ok finally got the it stable on stock Volts Though the temps seem too be a bit high...Will increasing the Voltage lower the temperature?

Much better just put the vcore upto 1.3V and the temps have dropped by 10.

Increasing voltage = higher temps.

1.3V is probably lower than what the chip was given before, probably about 1.26V real.

and anything under 60C is fine.

When i went into the BIOS m8 it was set on Auto so i had no idea what voltage it was actually on...I took the reading off Everest which said it was on 1.2....The Temps on 1.2 were hitting 53/52 as you can see in the picture...I changed it too 1.3v and it's gone down
