Hi, anybody can help with overclocking – my specks:
i7 930
P6TD Deluxe
6Gb OCZ 1800Mhz RAM
1TB WD SATA3 HDD,
2 x 80GB INTEL SSD
SAPPHIRE 5850 TOXIC 2GB
SATA3 controller,
1000W PSU,
Custom water cooling.

Temp in stock -

Thanks

I was surprised is well, but never have any experience with water cooling – what can be wrong ?

Your temps look fine, i7's just have a higher temp readout than other chips I think they have more accurate sensors.

Don't use OCCT to stress test though get LinX or IBT.

Right – temperatures are not too bad :D then – what wrong with OCCT Perestroika and how about some help with overclocking ?

first what block and rad are you using?

second, go into the BIOS, find the one where there's an option which says BCLK, put it to 200 and core multi to 20x, go down to CPU VTT or CPU voltage or something to that gist, increase it to maybe 1.275v, start up the OS, run prime95 or IBT or your OCCT program, and keeping upping the BCLK and volts until it's no longer stable, try and reach as high as possible.

If you can't get past 4.2GHz then increase the multi to 21x and lower the BCLK to 200, see if it's stable, if it is up the BCLK again until the processor reaches the max your ok with, if it doesn't work, decrease the BCLK to 191 and set multi to auto

if that doesn't work just keep on going until you find the highest clock which does

Radiator is EK Water Blocks EK-CoolStream RAD XT 360, CPU block is Swiftech Apogee XT Extreme Performance, Pump is Laing DDC-Pump 12V DDC-1RT/Plus with 2xG1/4-outer thread.
I planning go for 4Ghz if temperatures will allow (still in doubt about temperatures in stock setup...), will be nice to have some advices or BIOS templates.

This is true, and I don't mean to be rude- however those are still very high temperatures. Mine, and many others from what I see idle at high 30s to low 40s... and that's on air cooling.

Surely something needs looking at - What case is it in? (hows the airflow etc?) I'm not familiar with water cooling but I know it's supposed to be better than air.

As for the OC itself, I found an Excelent explaination Here.

Thanks, I will try to go for 4Ghz, for the cooling, this is my first WC rig, and I notice that temperatures are different from air cooling, I planning go for cleaning of system and change out cooling liquid. Case is HAF 932, no problems with cooling for all components. Strange, I do not find any examples on net, of stock CPU temperatures on WC rigs…..

According to his Coretemp screenshot his CPU is idling in the low 30's.

Thanks all for the help, unfortunately I have to leave home for business about for a month – that mean, overclocking will be postponed until I comeback…
For the temperatures – according what I was reading – they are not too bad, but they have to be lower… I planning do cleaning of system, change out liquid and etc… probably that will improve temperatures. For the RAD, well I got what I got, probably that was not the best, but for the single loop - will do ( I think). I using MX-2 thermal paste, but is over 1year old, but probably still be do the job is well.
In general – I happy with current setup. Some pictures – if you don’t mind…

But I have some questions about flushing and cleaning of WC system, any special liquids I have to use ?, from guides that I have been read, vinegar do the job is well, how often cleaning must be done ? If some body can be more precise about that – will be much help for me.
Any suggestions and remarks are more like welcome. I am not complete noob about systems in general, but I prefer ask questions and try to collect the best what I can get from all. Sorry for my English.
