I am trying to get my 4870 x2 at 800 core and 100 mem. call of duty WaW runs for alittle while then just locks up and crashes. I have set it back to stock and its now fine. I have even tried voltage tweaking to get it stable but still crashes. I am not sure what voltage is best for 800 core. Do you oc both gpus to the same clocks?

Yes you want to have both GPU's running at the same speed to reduce the possibility of micro-stutter.
What are you using to tweak the voltages? Some cards can't hit 800/1000 like mine for example. Most I can get out of mine is 775/940 :(

Well i have pushed my mem to 1050 and left core at 750 which seemed stable in games but furmark crashes with my 4870 x2 and i have read its overloads the vrms for the 4870x2 so i need to find a decent gpu stablity test any idea's? The program i am using is by agent god. My card is the asus tri-fan just wish i could get it stable.

Why not use Rivatuner to log the temps and see at what point it crashes?

I always had trouble running my memory too high on my 4870x2, but core would do 825 on stock volts. However the soft-volt mod i did using Rivatuner would only change the core voltage and not memory voltage

Most 4870x2's will do no more than 835 on the cores, and 945 on the mem. With mine, it needs the fan speed turned up to 100% to do those clocks.

For anything much higher, me thinks you are going to need W/C and probably a volt mod as well.

You might want to try the Top bios 790/915, extends the overdrive and loosens off the timings a bit.

Been running mine OCed 825/960 since they came out. Happily does 862 core (stock volts). Mem 1000, never pushed it higher doesn't help the scores much. Did this on air, but I use WC now which works a treat. The soft mod is kinda limited, nothing you do will raise the core over 1.37v (ref design),

From my personal experience its all about cooling.Since i have had watercooling i get my card on 787 clock and 990 memory

My card is the asus tri fan edition so my air cooling is good. i set fan speed to 70% which should be good.

Furmark does not work with my card as its faulty so i dont know what other gpu stablity tester to try out.

Its ok in here mate. i ran furmark and my 4870x2 score at stock on 1600x1200 was 5225 is that good or bad?

FPS: min=72 max=137 avg=88

I will need to learn how to flash my graphics card in the next few days.
