Help overclocking AM2 sempron 3200+

TRAS @ 15
RAS @ 5
RAS to CAS 5
CAS 5

Thats how my BIOS labels them, some are different. What you posted looks right m8

Try That.

*HINT* Look at the CPU z pics you posted :D

Sort these pics out properly on the post mate :D makes life a lot easier not having to switch windows. ;)

They should be like this:

Just hit a brick wall i think,

1) Can't find ram voltage
2) Max voltage on CPU seems to be 1.3 v no more :S

Shr3k

If you get fed up with me at any time or get bored let me know ;)

Try at 1.3V then mate and leave the RAM Voltage.

Rule number one of overclocking.... its not an exact science and no two CPUs, Motherboards etc will be the same in level of overclockability.

Trial and error m8 :D

Ah the SWEEEEEEEEEET smell of success (as oppose to the acrid smell of burning Silicon) LMAO :D

Nice one mate.

Now..... play some games, run some benchmarks etc - - basically make it sweat. If it puts up with that, jobs a good un.

If not, see post furthur above on backing things off a little.

Keep me posted m8

Is that the limit of the chip or the mobo?

If you're leaving it at that, set your ram as close to 200 as possible using the appropriate divider and lower your ram timings,

If its budget ram aim for 2.5-3-2-6 1T @ 200(400)

EDIT// sorry thought it was 939! Ignore me!

Well i think thats amazing lol, as for ram dividers ect ask andy i havn't a clue... But Im Learning!!! lol

Shr3k

Ill keep you posted btw Temps are 21 cpu diode and 25 cpu any ideas why they've dropped? lol

Oh and is that as far as itll go, just thats a 25% overclock :D and temps are fine

LOL. :D

Shr3k's done well there, not a bad OC at all. No performance gain that costs nothing is to be sneezed at!! :p

Im over the moon hanks a lot!

The CAS latency is ok at 2T i take it?

Thanks m8, If theres anything else i can do let me know ;)

I love overclocking lol,

My God...I've created a monster!!!! LMAO!!

Run it at that for a night or two and see how it goes.

Your limiting factors here will be your RAM and, more importantly in this case, the motherboard as you say you have no voltage adjustment for the RAM and no further than 1.3V for the CPU.

As I said above, thats 450MHz free performance which is always nice! :D ;)

I know but better still i got a Intel at home with a decent Mobo so ready to do the same again 2 moro? lol

Thats got 2 gb ram and it has a nce bios,

Im off to play a game for a bit test me new settings, graphics card next? ;)

Shr3k

Ok 8 hours and no errors so ill leave the test going until tonight, highest temp recorded 27 cpu diode and 32 cpu,

Thanks

AMD released their flagship 3200 XP CPU at £200+ but discerning overclockers discovered that the 2500+ was a good little overclocker. This basically screwed AMD because they anticipated MASSIVE sales of their new flagship product, only to be massively outselling it by its 2500+ little brother. The end result was AMD basically rebadged lots of 3200's as 2500's to meet demand. I actually bought one of these 2500's and all that was needed to turn it into a 3200 was upping the FSB from 333 to 400! :D

Good old AMD :p my main rig is stilling running a 2500+ XP (Barton core) overclocked by changing the FSB to 400 ;). I've just ordered one of the Opteron 144's in the clearance section (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-141-AM&groupid=595&catid=597&subcat=640 ), just looking out for a nice DFI or ASRock board now to overclock it on

You might be better off getting one of the Opteron 144's as I have heard they overclock pretty well - http://www.bleedinedge.com/reviews/processor_reviews/opteron144/optvsx2_01.html

Good luck with the Sempron.

I may buy one of these not sure, yet me processors clocked nicely, what do u think i should do?

Shr3k

20 Hours and still no errors :D

The intel dual core chip? Should i overclock it or shall i leave it?

If yes what settings do you recommend?

Cheers shr3k

And cheers for the help and support guys! Cheers andy :D
