help overclocking my e6850

just been trying to overclock my e6850 but seem to be struggling.
i have an ip35 pro, pc5300 ballistix, e6850, tt120.

Boots up fine but is failing in orthos, tried running at 400x9 (3.6) with memory at 800 but fails orthos straight away.

Thought these could clock a lot higher or maybee im doing something wrong

what vcore are you at? what timings you running memory at?

changed bus speed to 389 fsb/dram 1:1 and ran for 6mins core voltage 1.240 mem voltage 2.2v mem is on auto at 5-3-3-15 2t

would like to be running around 3.6ghz and mem at 6400 spec, thought this would have been easily achievable with my harware.

put your voltage to 1.4v and try again.

thanks seems to have done the trick. Ran for an hr with no probs, will run for longer when i get chace.

i would also set the momory timings manually mate, 3-3-3-12 for 667mhz (333)

I would set it at 4-4-4-12 for 800mhz

all done mem at 4 4 4 12 2.2v 800
cpu is at 1.375
ran orthos for an hr and no faults
mow just to find my problem with 3d mark

try:

500 fsb, 8x multi
set ram timing to 5-5-5-18 @ 1:1 1000mhz (if that ram will do that i dont know, so id see if your ram will get there on its own first)

1.475 - 1.5 vcore
an extra 0.1 onto north bridge

but first try something like 475 (8x multi) and see how it goes from there. most can do 3.8 at least. it should post and get to desktop like that, and orthos.

i can get mine to 4.15 (9x with 460 fsb) but i like the round numbers too much (yeah im weired, probably some form of ocd..)

i just wish i could do:

550 fsb
1100 ram
2200 quad pumped
4400 core clock
8800 ... GTX
