Hey there,

Currently got my opteron 170 sat at 2.4ghz stock volts with temps not a problem (under 40 - load) but can't seem to get it to post at anything faster than this, even though it did 2.6 prime stable at stock just a few weeks ago.

got the ht @ 3x

mem @ 133mhz

Got any ideas? Also set my opty's volts back to 1.25v to run @ stock speeds but i thought setting back the voltage lowered temps? Please help

Thanks

Calum

First thing, what cooler and what motherboard have you got?

Increase the Vcore to 1.4V for a start and increase the FSB in 5MHz steps and test for stability.

Edit:- Should learn to read sigs

Lol i tried to make it obvious!

As for increasing the vcore - i'm really worried by the temps last time i did it the temps rose by 5 degrees, why doesn't the same thing apply for lowering the voltage?

Opterons are good for load temps upto 60C so it's nothing to worry about, just keep an eye on it when you're stability testing.
