Hi, I have a Palit R700, one of the fans has broken and the card is out of warranty, I really want to avoid the extortionate repair costs by sending it back if I can! Does anybody know of anywhere to get a replacement fan or full fan housing? I have already been in touch with Palit and they told me they do not supply replacement parts. I have also searched all over the Internet for any means of getting hold of a part with no luck.
Its no fun playing my games on the lowest graphics setting and most of them wont run at all :( I'm definitely not taking the risk of running it with only one fan!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, I will have a look around and see what I can find, there must be aftermarket coolers for the card as it is basically a Radeon HD 4870 X2 which has been over-clocked by Palit and a new cooling system installed.

Thanks for the info, are there any aftermarket solutions that you would recommend that are not needing a water cool system?

Thanks for your help, I will see what I can get my hands on. It seems I am going to be paying through the teeth whatever I do as most reasonable priced coolers seem have been discontinued due to the age of the card!
I will not give up on this monster! ha ha!

Thanks again for everyone's help in this matter.

Did I say a week? I meant a year... ha! :)
Hopefully with a new cooler I may even be able to get access back to the three sata ports blocked off by the three slot monstrosity!

The Accelero cooler is 3 slot as well :(

Never mind, i have done without them so far, I can make do with 2!

What do you think about fitting a regular pc fan on top of the card? would the cooling be sufficient enough for me to play my games until I manage to find a proper solution? Or is it going to be too far away from the heat sink?

Give it a go.

You'll soon find out if the temperatures are too high.

You probably need a fan similar in size to the existing one so that it blows down through the hole in the cooler, if you see what I mean.

Yeah I have one the same size, just a couple of extra holes to drill as the mounting holes don't match up, I'll just try it and hope for the best :)

Thanks again for all your help!
