I've got Vista running on my vaio - however it's not near as quick as it would be on XP and the graphics aren't great.

I want to keep Vista, and install XP on another partition.

So
- create a partition; and
- dual boot.

What programmes are the best and most stable to do this?

Thank you.

Wow - never knew Vista had that functionality - don't I look silly.

Might defrag first. Then partition.

XP will then be quite easy to install.

Not sure about that. The way to do it properly would be XP then Vista, but I have never tried. Vista might be clever enough to not let the XP install mess about with the Vista boot loader

You may find the Vista partitioning tool will not be able to make the size of partition you want for XP, so if this is the case try gParted Live CD. Once the partition is created, install XP in the normal manner, once installed download and install EasyBCD (which also requires .NETFramework 2) on your XP install, follow This guide to sort out the Vista bootloader using EasyBCD...
