Hi people, this seemed like the best place to post to get help on building my next PC. I genuinely don't know what stuff to bundle together to be cost effective and have a functional machine but I do know enough to assemble it (if needed)

Now I need a new PC as I've just started Uni and would love to have a personal computer to do work at home as well. So I need a PC capable enough to use
for game development - the art side of it (3D modelling, scultping).

Has to be able to use UDK, Zbrush, Substance, 3DSMax, Adobe photoshop/aftereffects (everything similar pretty much)

Just asking for a tower build bundles or parts, no monitors or peripherals.
Hopefully this is enough £££ or i'm going to have to sell some stuff.

Thank you ^_^

Let me know how that is looking, and whether storage setup (275GB + 2TB) is okay to begin with (think about backup - would you like an additional internal mechanical drive, or external drive, or are you going with Cloud backup), and if you need a DVD drive etc.

The motherboard has an M.2 slot so you could add on a fast M.2 SSD later on to use as cache/scratch for your work programs and speed things up more.

You should be able to get Windows through your Uni, cheaper, unless things have changed in that regard recently.

Based on your feedback, changes/additions can be made - better PSU, possibly the 6700K chip. Also, it might be an idea to begin with 16GB RAM and monitor memory usage, see if an additional 16GB would be worthwhile or not. The upside to getting 32GB rightaway is that all four sticks are a matched set and factory-guaranteed to be compatible. Then again, most times you can use different kits without issues.

Prices are all over the place right now. This is the cheapest 2x8GB set of DDR4, so weigh that against the price for 32GB, as well:

thats fine,

Spec is ok to, maybe a normal cooler which is vertical rather than flat? so it clears the ram for sure.
