So I fired up my Computer this morning, all was working fine then I went to plug my Digi Cam in the USB port and all of a sudden the monitor switched off. So I press the reset button on the PC and it does nothing, Turned it off at the back and back on again but the computer is now not responding to any buttons at the front. When you switch it on at the back via the PSU it switches the PC automatically. The monitor says no signal is being received. I have checked the graphics card with a different one and it still does not work. I even removed the memory sticks and it tried different ones, you don't even get a beep when theres no memory in it. The fans and lights work but the CDROM does not respond.

The wierd thing is sometimes the PSU will not turn on but if you leave it for 5 minutes then it will turn on. What could be the problem?

Sounds like you psu surged and collapsed on itself. Try running the main gubbins with another psu, with as little on as possible, and see if your psu died.

You was right, changed PSU and it seems to boot fine problem now is I've just lost my SATA drive which had all my installations and important data on. When I tried to plug the SATA cable in the motherboard it bent all the pins so I've got no chance of getting that data back. Thanks for your help anyway much appreciated!

Cant seem to fit the cable in, I'm going to have to get a torch and tweezers, however I have found the cause of why the system shut down in the first place. Whenever I plug my camera into the USB port at the front it totally shuts down the system so it's either a faulty port or faulty camera cable. I dare not try the camera in another port just incase it damages the other PSU.
