Hello,
My PC started acting strangely as if the keyboard/mouse was stuck and windows weren't opening properley etc

I had to turn the computer off at the button and it shut down through the Windows process (8.1). However, when I pressed the button to turn it back on, nothing. The LED light on the ethernet is on - my motherboard is the Gigabyte Z87X-D3H. When I push the power button nothing happens, fans don't start etc also if I turn the PSU off then on after leaving it ~60 seconds there is a small pop its a Seasonic Gold 750 watt only just over a year old.

I do have another computer with a Superflower 550w but as I have a R290 in my system (albeit at stock) as well as 5 hard drives im reluctant to swap it all over in case I overload that.

Any ideas? I've tried shorting the pins on the motherboard, despite being fiddly i'm sure I got it right at least once but nothing was happening at all.

Any help appreciated. Cheers.

Nevermind, ended up swapping the Superflower over after a little bit of research and seeing a r290 should be fine and as I don't game at the moment shouldn't really come close to overloading anything.

Booted first time without issue. Looks like the Seasonic is going back which is a real shame as its the first PSU i've ever spent over £75 on (was over £100!) and its the first PSU to go on me aside from a faulty on arrival Corsair years ago. I've had about 5+ Q-Tecs in my earlier years as well all worked flawlessly. I bought it purposefully for the long haul :p
