HELP!! PC Won't Post!!

Ok I have been having problems with my PC starting. Basically I will turn it on and I get power etc but nothing comes up on the screen. So I then turn it off and on again and it does boot but it has lost my Overclock settings. So I go into BIOS and load the profile and then save and it reboots and it has the overclock and it all works fine.

But today I tried the same thing and on the second time trying nothing is still happening :( Basically I am getting a black screen but the PC has power.

I am thinking it is the motherboard (Asus P5N-E SLI) as a friend had the exact same board and he also had booting issues and actually got his board replaced.

So do you recon its the motherboard? Right PITA if it is as I have to disconnect all my watercooling sigh :(

does it run fine if you run it at default speeds ?

if you try and run a basic system, cpu, gfx card, 1 stick of memory, 1 hard disk does it still happen ?

does the overclock run stable under load once its up ?

does the mobo need a bios update for the q6600 ?

Thanks for the reply.

I can't test if it runs at default speeds as I can't get into the bios as nothing is coming up at the mo. I have also cleared the CMOS and that didn't work.

Will try the basic system thing tomorrow.

Yes yesturday the overclock was running fine once I got it going.

Its not a Q6600 its a dual core E6600 so should need no update as I have had the same board and cpu running fine for a year.
