hi

i got some upgrades from my pc from ocuk today, 2 gig of extra ram and a second hard drive.

i havnt tried the hard drive yet, but im having issues getting the new ram to work.

its the OCZ 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2P800R22GK)DDR2(OCZ2P800R22GK)http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...num Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2P800R22GK)

now with this fitted i cant get windows to boot up. im running windows vista 32b home premium, a core 2 duo 6700 processor and my existing ram is also OCZ pc 6400 but the gold revision 2.

the sticker on the side of the new ram says 4-4-4-15 while my existing ram says 4-5-5-15. is that the issue? if so can it be sorted or have i bought the wrong stuff?

ive tried running just the new sticks without my existing ram and that wont boot either, although the errors look different. with just the new sticks it gets to the stage where windows should have its loading screen and just goes black. with the old and new in together theres some beeping also.

help!

thanks

i tried that voltage thing, didnt help up to +0.20v, didnt dare take it higher

same thing as before, gets as far as the windows loading screen, a second of that flashes up, followed by a flash of blue screen then blackness and beeping

is there anything else i can try for this or am i just stuffed and need to send this back?
