Hi,
This is my machine
Q9550
Asus P5Q-E mobo
8GB DDR2 Ram OCZ Platinium
Gigabyte GTX460 SOC
650w Truepower PSU
2xWD 640gb Drives
1xsamsung 320gb Drive
1xoptical Drive
5 Case fans
my case was making some noise, like a lead was rattling on a fan. I opened the case and couldnt find the cause, but thought it best to move the remaining cables to the back of the case. When i put the computer back together and turned it on, the PC wont boot. The monitor wont turn on, unplugging all of the drives lets the monitor turn on, but it stays at black. I assumed it was a GPU issue, so i replaced the GTX460 with an 8600GT, which uses a single 6pin PCI-E power lead, and it still wont boot. The computer makes all the normal startup sounds, and it seems like it has started but nothing happens. Any idea what could be wrong with it?
Thanks massively for your help.
EDIT: Also tried a different PCI-E slot, removed all but 1 stick of ram, disconnected everything none essential and reset BIOS, still nothing shows up.
