I need a little help on picking a power supply. Ideally it should be as quiet as possible, The spec is rather odd however.

Pentium G3470 CPU

16GB of 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM

1 SSD and 2 SATA HDDs

DVD RW

Nvidia Quadro FX5500 ( basically Geforce 7900 GTX, yes i know its very old )

Gb Ethernet cars ( something old school )

Sound cars ( again something old school )

Raid card ( again something old school )

Sorry not exact specs but if anyone could ruffly calculate the required wattage PSU required that would be great and if you could recommend any quiet or silent PSU for this application that would be brilliant. There is only one more thing though. The PSU has to sit on its side. The few fanless ones I have looked at all appear to say they have to sit flat. Any help would be most appreciated.

I have the corsair rm and it's the quietest Psu I've ever had. Went for a higher spec than needed and it's very rare for the fan to kick in (even when gaming).

I've been running a Seasonic 460w fanless unit in a system with similar spec (lower powered graphics card but more mechanical drives) on its side for the best part of 3 years. They suggest running with the vents at the top to allow natural cooling but if you have more air coming in than going out (positive pressure) then fanless units will be fine regardless of which way up it is. Running the usual 120mm front - 120mm rear (fans at 5v, silent) the PSU was getting warm but not hot, changing them to both 120mm at the front still at 5v the PSU was much cooler and the PC still silent.
