Hello all,

I currently have a ThermaTake Ti-Chi watercooled case, but I'm getting a bit fed up of the size of it and the weight (20kg's plus!) so I'm looking for a new smaller lighter case, and looking at the Lian-li pc7 plus, but I would like to keep the water cooling.
I found examples online of people who have put 2 120.1 Rads in the case in series (one on the front intake and one of the exhaust) but I cannot decide which 120.1 Rads to pick, so can anyone give me some pointers?
I was looking at the ThermoChill ones but they are too thick I think to fit between the hdd cage and the front intake. Or would I be best getting just one 120.1 Tthermochill rad (if it will fit)? and mounting it on the exhust?
Or has anyone used a BlackIce Rad? are they any good? seen the same thing done else where using 2 BlackIce gt120 rads
I'l be keeping my existing Thermotake blocks and getting new piping and a new pump. I currently cool my gfx card (ati x850xt pe) and processor (skt754 A64 @ 2.4gz)

Cheers for the help,
Mac :D

hi

have a BIP2 in one pc and a Thermochill pa120.2 in other pc; the Thermochill wins hands down and is generally known to be the best rads around.

With the hassle your having have you thought about selling the Thermaltake case and maybe buying a lighter case with a picked wc system?

Yeah the plan is to buy a PC7 Plus and watercool it, but I dont think there is enough space for the ThermoChill Rad in it, I'm gonna order it this weekend measure it all up before I order the Rad, but I'm pretty sure the thermochill one will hit the psu if mounted at the back, so maybe I could remove the drive cage and fit it to the front?
I would like to use the Thermochill Rad as my friend has one and it amazingly good.

I have an original BIX in the front of my PC60 but as I'm only cooling a (heavily-overclocked and volted AthlonXP) a single 120 rad is enough for me. You might be surprised and discover that a 120.1 is enough.

You can run 2 thermochill rads and still have better flow than if you ran just 1 black ice rad. The thermochills are really good and its great having the bleed screw in the top. I have a spare 120.3 rad if you need - drop me a line in my trust account if you need it

you can get 2 thermochill PA120.1 rads into a pc7, thats what I have. Alternatively you could probably get a 120.2 in the roof and lose the 2 top drive bays as long as you had the fans on the outside.

Two rads is a bad idea, if you cant get a decent rad in the case I would change the case. The pa120.2 is superb and wont restrict performance as a two rad loop will

I wouldn't go so far as to say its a bad idea although I have 2 loops which is why i have the 2 rads. That said thermochill rads aren't very restrictive so I wouldn't discount it.

Hmmm cheers for the replies guys,
I think I'm going to order the case this weekend, then measure it up and see what Rad's will fit, I'm 99% sure a thermochill pa120.1 will fit in the front if I remove the drive cage (which I dont want anyhow), I think I'm just going to get 1 rad see what the temps are like, if they are worse than my existing case then start modding another Rad into the case.
I do like the idea of fitting the rad's in the top but I need all the drive bays really, and I don't really want to start cutting the case up.
Although I did have an idea of cutting a 120.2 into the floor of the case, if it would fit and then put the case on wheels or something.
How much flow is restricted by having two Rads in series then? Is it a noticeable difference in the temps or not? looking at getting a Laing DDC-1T Pro 12volt Pump (420l/h).

You might be surprised and discover that a 120.1 is enough.

Can tell in advance now fella... just need to quantify the heatload.

While those graphs are interesting I don't really understand them.... well i think I do, so a pa120.1 can remove 100wats of heat, roughly?
How do I work out how much heat my system gives out?
and by putting two 120.1's in series I could loose up to 40cm of water?
I'm all confused
