Help please!! - Computer shutsdown when downloading (crap title edited)

When i start to downloads anything using FF or IE my computer restarts :mad:

Any ideas?

Restarts as in shutsdown and reboots, or as if someone hit the reset switch?

If the former, than my guess would be some sort of virus.

Do have a virus scanner installed? If so try a scan.

If you dont have one installed, I imagine you can't really download on, so have a look on google for an online scanner. There are a few places that do them, it's basically a free scanner via your browser. I *think* symantec have one, but not sure.

Does it straight reboot or does it doa BSOD then reboot? might be an idea to turn the auto restart feature off.

How much space have you got left on your harddrive?

Run a disk check.

Start>Run>cmd>chkdsk /f

25Gb free space.

scan picked up a few things, seams to download ok now so hoping it will stay that way.
