Hi Guys,
Wonder if you can help with this one. I have a good search around but with no luck.
First of all,
System:
AMD64 – 3200 1meg cache, 1024 OCZ Ram //ATI X800 pro 16 pipe // windows XP SP2 // 2X SATA Drive with all programs installed on the 2nd drive to keep it in shape. I’m very careful of what goes on there and run disk keeper10 & plenty of spy ware software…
Problem:
Everything is running great with no problems at all apart from this
I am getting an odd slow down problem when I put a window over an icon on my desktop. I use Avedesk or Object dock.
These are PNG’s not sure if .Ico format would improve.
So basically I can grab a windows move around my desktop any speed I want but as soon as it goes over the icons from one of these programs it goes very slow indeed.
I wouldn’t normally be too fussed about this but every time I load Windows blinds and have anything over the icons it really grinds to a halt.

I have a system at work with a setup close to this expect it has a nvidia 6200 the problem does not happen at all there.

Thanks for any information or help you can give on this one.

Thomas

There maybe a problem with the pic link? Not much to see in it anyway just a window over some icons on my desktop.

i cant say i've ever heard of a icon slowing down a machine :o
have you though of just removing them from desktop? or shifting them to the quick launch area or perhaps just use the start button instead?

I like the look of Objectdock and Avedesk you see *Big Hard disk on the desktop). I've never really that this in the past so it's a little odd.
