first of all this is an OS / hardwware / motherboard issue so i posted it here 
right, my mate in holland has just bought a PC... he paid the shop 20 quid to set the machine up ready for an OS
he has been trying to install windows XP pro ontot the machine, but when he gets to the point where you select a partition
it comes up
C: partition (unknown) 138410 MB
on 238418 MB Disk 0 on ID 0 on bus 0 on atapi (MBR)
when he tries to install on this partition he gets an error similar to
''there was an error while trying to....setup canot find/ do anything with this disk'' ( dutch translation is a bit sketchy )
but that process will take aprox 15 minutes
i told him to rebeoot and try to delete the partition to give him a disk of unpartitioned spacr, when he does this it takes AGES i mean like 15 to 20 mins. then reads please wait until it says:
'Please wait' - 10 mins
'Examining the disc' then - 10 mins
then eventualy the same error message as before
the rig is:
Asus P5n32-SLI Deluxe
Intel 940 dual core 3.2GB
OCZ 2GB DDR2
Maxator SATA 250GB hard disk
he says hes installed the sata druivers fromt he disk? but again dutch translations are a bit hit and miss.
ive watched it for my self on webcam and its really just taking ages then just not working
