i am thinking of buying a XFX 650W XXX Edition Modular Power Supply but i would like to no if it will fit in my coolermaster storm scout pc case becuse i have looked at the dimenions of this psu and i might be wrong but it seems almost longer than the inside of my pc case 35.5cm (H) x 20cm (W) x 14cm (D) thats nearly 14" (H) x 7"(W) x 5"(D) this could be a mistake please could you let me no as i have read a lot of reviews and they all same the same thing that it is a very good psu.. So i hope it fits my lovely CM storm scout case i no standard power supply`s with a 120mm fan are roughly 5.9"(W) x 3.4"(H) X 5.9"(L)... thanks for any help.

Seasonic X-650 :D

But yea, those specs must be wrong for the XFX. Even in the XFX spec sheet it says that the fan is:

Intake Fan: Diameter
135 x 135 x 25 mm

As you can see on the picture, the fan is only a bit smaller than the PSU itself, so the quoted dimensions must be wrong (for one thing, it certainly isn't taller than it is wide, as the specs say). The XFX should conform to standard ATX PSU sizes:

Dimensions of an ATX power supply are 150 mm width, 86 mm height, and typically 140 mm depth, although the depth can vary from brand to brand.

ie it should fit in the case. However, If I were you i'd go for the Seasonic or one of the other excellent PSUs suggested above.

The difference between the 2 Corsair PSU is one is modular and one has fixed cables (TX).
Some PSU are slightly longer, my old Corsair 750 tx and my current PC Power & Cooling is slightly longer, but they should all fit in the case.
