Hi

I'm a bit concerned as I think my graphics card could be dying :/

Now and again while playing battlefield bad co. 2 my screen goes black(flickers on and off but eventually sorts itself out), its not a total back out though, I can still see peoples names n stuff and if i exit out I can see the menu fine, (which makes me think it might be a 3d rendering issue)
I thought when cards are on there way out, you get like them green pixel things, which I'm not getting,

this is the only game that does it though,
everything else is fine,

I'm really hoping someone says its a Battlefield issue, as I cant really afford another card,

can anyone advise what the issue could be please?

spec in sig, on windows 7 64-bit with latest drivers from Nvidia's website.
tempretures are actually pretty good as even under full load it rarely passes 65c
cheers

have you recently updated the drivers or did u update the drivers to try and resolve the problem.

if its just bc2 sounds like a bc issue, have you tried lowering the gfx level to their lowest and seeing how it performs ?

260... ah hah.

Can't remember the info, but it is on the EA website somewhere about clearing out your temporary files from you PC. That can sometimes help with those black screens. Your card is likely fine.

well the windows install is fresh as i just upgraded from 32-bit to 64-bit,
I updated all drivers before installing anything

thing is it did this on the old install 32-bit too,
when it started doing it i paused the game and whacked it on low settings but it was still doing it,

card setings are set to 'let the 3d application decide' in the Nvidia control panel,
can't put my finger on whats causing it and as I say its not the run of the mill gfx card dying symptoms

cheers

this is a bad company issue - i had it with my 4890s on the 10.8 drivers, using another set sorted it out.

Bit wierd though if it is Nvidia drivers though - i thought they were the nuts:confused:

Seriously though try a few different sets to see which is best - i'm stuck on the 10.5 hotfix for my 4890 crossfire

cool cheers mate,

do you think I can get away with an older version of drivers?

I usually like to have all latest stuff though lol

although if the empting the temp folder sorts it I can stick with these ones
think there 260.99 or summet :)

cheers all

Without looking, I just remember you had to go to the console and to a search similar to your suggesting and delete the lot lol. Of course, they disclaim any damage to your system if you delete anything you need (AS DO I!).

I'll try have a look see. EDIT: Can't find the EA link with a quick look.

I'm only suggesting it as that is what worked for me, after that with 3 different 260's I had no more issues.
