Help please new TV guys

Ok guys my daughter, grandson and other half have just bought their first home.

Have helped where I can but would like to buy them a TV.
I've got £500 to get them a tv as a surprise, what can I get for that as close to 50' please guys.

Still rocking a GT50GT plasma, can I get 4k or close to that for 500?

55" KS7000 is the tv to go for atm but will be over that budget. no point getting the 50" as it's only £50 cheaper.

look at LG models from John Lewis. Failing that Hisense.
