help please, recomend me a lens

I am ordering a 400D and am getting the 17-85 IS USM lens to go with it but I want a zoom lens and cant decide between the following lenses:

Canon 75-300mmf4/5.6 USM III for £149

SIGMA 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DG MACRO for £189

SIGMA 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG MACRO for £159

Tamron AF 28-300mm F3.5-6.3 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Macro for £213.99

I have used a Sigma 70-300 before and thought it was ok but just wondered what was the best option from the above or if there were any others I should consider for around the same price.

This is not too bad a lens, and I have used one on a Pentax digital body before and it produced reasonable results.

IMHO all 28-300 lenses are crap and a complete waste of money.

Sorry, I have no idea. I don't currently own a 70-300 of any description.

I have the Sigma 70-300mm and It's very, very good for the price. Well worth it.
