Help please setting up new router

Hi guys,

Was with O2 and now with sky. I have also bought the Asus N55u router.

With the sky router, I plug in my Ethernet cable and away I got, all works fine.

I switch over to the Asus router and not so simple. I've entered in my username & password into the quick set up. It says ADSL 'Link Up' at the top in green but under the internet icon says 'please check Ethernet cable' yet it does work on the sky router.

I have tried doing the manual set up as well with no joy.

Any help would be much appreciated.

You need to extract your sky details. They hide them.

Check the other threads on here for the dsl-n55u, I've seen others say how to do it.

I have the same router but with BT.

Also, flash the router to the latest firmware.

Yeah I am currently reading through the tutorial on that skyuser site. This all seems beyond my ability atm. fingers crossed.

I don't think I could make it any simpler than the top thread from the link you posted earlier.

It was just my lack of networking knowledge that got me all confused. I though you could get away with just entering the generic SkyID & PW they give you
