help please with a wirless connection

right guys

I have just bought Netgear-N 300v2 WNR2000 (Cable)

wirless card detects the network
but has limited connection...

cant connect to the net at all

Done diagnose connection via windows and it says
my card has not got an ip adress

ive never set up wirless before so i have no idea what to do

connection works fine via ethernet so thats ok
and when i tried connecting to a sky wirless router the card worked without any tinkering around

can ye help me please
tried for 2 days now haha.

its virgin media now...

i only mentioned sky as thats where i first tried it out
this wirless card that is...

that worked first time found the network no trouble

i bought the router for the virgin line at another house
as it says cable compatible
thought it was going to be as easy as 1 2 3 like it was
with the sky router

ive now tried a diffrent router out with the virgin line

a tp-link TL-WR741ND
it found the network straight away connected to it but it still wont let me on the net

ideally would love to get the Netgear working for me as it was a the dearer of the two and up to 300mbps where as tp-link is 150mbps

windows 7 64 home premium

unsure what card model is as this was a pre built machine haha
it is 802.11n so should work with all N brands

Problem Resolved

thanks for the suggestions guys !

turned out i was being a numb nuts and my security setting did not match those of the router...

my card can only has certain security on it
