basicaly its a basic windows xp home system bought from the shop i dont know the exact specs but it dosent have any more than 256mb worth of ram ... today it was turned on and nothing is displayed on the screen and the internal speaker just constantly bleeps so what is wrong any suggestions ..... ???? the comp i think is 2 years old

i can find the cmos i was looking but couldnt find it i found what may resemble the cmos restarter switch but it wasnt labeld like my mobo and my other pcs mbo so i dunno =S

The beep is usually CPU or RAM but it can also be a motherboard fault or just about anything! So, if the above fails try starting the pc without RAM and see if the beep is the same. Then try with the RAM but no Graphics then no CPU then anything else you can think of to narrow down the problem! :(
