Help please

Hi guys just installed a new dell 320 optiplex in our office and connected it to the network. But browsing the network and the internet is painfully slow!!!!. Tried every fix under the sun browsed Google for hours, But to no avail.

Network is as follows Pc >>>>> switch >>>> Hardware Firewall >>>> router ADSL Modem.

Also was working fine on previous computer installed there?

Any help or suggestions appreciated


Running xp pro service pack 2 Btw
 
Our latest Dell (random?!) had similar issues - slow lan access, slow internet access and finally loss of connection all together untill rebooted. I did the usual bios/driver updates and finally shoved another NIC/patch lead and it worked, I confess I didn't follow up on this to diagnose if it was a NIC or cable issue and simply accepted it worked after 48hrs of testing. May be worth a try ?
