hi all im buying some new components as my dad needs a new pc.
i want to get him the e6600 cpu but theres a lot of motherboards for this and havent a clue with 1 will work with the cpu so can some1 point me out the cheapest 1 possible please (the very cheapest as i want this cpu but we havent a big budget.)

what memory will i need for this type of setup please?

my dad who hasnt a clue whatsoever about a computer went to the local comp shop b4 and tested his old comp which they said was all dead and would i like them to keep hold of the stuff and throw it away as its all dead
took it home guess what???
the gfx card works
the memory works
the cpu workks
gfx card works radeon 9800 se which i used as a backup for my comp
the motherboard was dead
aswell as the power pack
so all in all they offered him this
heres the ripping off part they offered him a
p4 1.8 cpu
some snide motherboard
512 of generic ram
400 watt generic power pack
for 230 pounds
i beleive he ordered this so i ophoned up cancelled it took all the old parts back and now looking on overclockers i could possibly get this if it all fits the components.
