Im going to remove the thermal paste off my Q6600 with tissue paper, yes some people say alcohol etc etc. but im not fussed bout gettin each little bit off, but i was just wondering would it be ok to leave the CPU in the mobo while rubbin off the thermal paste off or would it damage anything, and just to let you know imma add AS5 =]

yes if u be careful it'll be fine.. i do it this way too.
 
As i wont be using alcohol so it will take me a lot more wipes across the top also isnt there pins in the mobo which could b damaged by rubbing
 
Not been funny but if your that worried you might do some damage, why not take the cpu out, clean it, put it back in?
