computer failing to switch on

i have a ds4 and a 6300 chip...been running fine until a power supply failure a few months ago...

then decided to upgrade buy adding a few new hard drives..

installed them and went to boot and the power supply failed again

sent this off and this morning the power supply was returned..

installed it and went to boot and still nothing...

anyone can help me with a few test etc to get me running again please

thanks in advance neil

Maybe a longshot, but perhaps the PSU isnt enough wattage to power all your new hard drives? If that's the only thing thats changed, try it without them - just to see if the PSU is working.

If it's not working, then you can sent it them again to fix o.o

tried booting with the basics? Just motherboard, cpu, ram, and maybe the graphics card if you need it...Just to see if the system turns on atleast :)

i'll try that first then...power supply is enermax liberty 500w and just been returened

if its failed again does this point to a fault elsewhere

Do you have another system to try it in? You still wont know if its your system or the PSU thats faulty, even if you try it with the absolute basics (psu/cpu/ram/mobo)

right boots with one installed but not with the other one installed

so i guess i have a faulty new hard drive

added a smaller drive and still boots up but tells me in can no longer read from the boot disc

any advice please

Wait wait wait...

Have you tried BOTH of the drives, seperatly...Not at the same time?

They might be drawing too much power when both together.

yes tried them both seperatly and it boots with one but not the other

refitted the one that works and another spare drive and it still boots so i'm guessing a faulty drive

no having problems with the booting into windows with all drives connected

a few others question is this a good time to run a bios update

should i need to alter the bios to get these to run at 3gb or will it know
