Hello Everyone

Some idea of my system spec:-
* OCZ part number:-Reaper X
* Module size and kit size:-2x 4GB Kit (4x 2GB sticks 8GB total)
* CPU model and rated speed:-AMD Phenom X4 Black Edi.
* Motherboard and revision:-Asus Crosshair II Formula
* Motherboard Bios rev:-1003
* Video card:-2x GeForce 9800GT XXX
* Power supply:-900w
* Operating System:-Windows Vista 64-bit Ult
* Memory voltage:-2.1v

I am new to this forum and hope to god someone can help me, I was up until 2AM this morning trying to fix my new rig

Let me explain the issue and what I have done so far:-

I have an Asus Crosshair II Formula mobo, 8GB of OCZ 1066MHz Reaper X RAM, AMD Phenom X4 Black Edition and Windows Vista 64bit

When I first built the machine and switch on for the first time (with all 8 GB RAM in) I got a DRAM error on the LCD display of the Mobo and nothing shown on the screen.

I removed 2 of the sticks of RAM so down to 4GB and it booted, I installed Windows Vista 64Bit Ultimate and all worked well.

I now want to be able to use my other 2 sticks of RAM.

I have put the other 2 sticks back in and again I cant even boot to BIOS. After reading some forum posts I lowered my RAM down to on DDR2 800MHz and turned off Ganged mode??

This allows me to boot to BIOS perfectly and recognizes all 8GB in BIOS.

Now when I go through the BIOS and try to get into Windows, I immediately get rebooted, and this just keeps going in a circle.

I have tried to reinstall the OS but after I get past the intial black install screen I immediately get a BSOD telling me its stopped my computer to save it blah blah blah.

So, I cannot get into Windows, I cannot reinstall Windows.

I desperately want to use all 8GB..

Any ideas?

PS I have also updated to the latest BIOS on the Mobo....

I tried changing the voltage to 2.1 manually in the BIOS and it just stalled on BIOS boot.

I am using slots 1,3 and 2,4 for pairing

Windows works fine with 4GB 2 sticks in 1,3

Anything else I can try?

Thanks in advance

does it work using either of the 2 pairs of sticks (at one time) in either of the 2 pairs of ram slots - eg sticks 1+2+3+4 slot 1,2,3,4 use 1+2 in slot 1,3 then 2,4 then use 2+4 in 1,3 2,4 if they work ok in all these configs try 1+3 in 1,3 and 1,4 then 2+4 in 1,3 2,4

try setting the t-ref to the highest your board supports for all slots (either shown in us or numerically - eg something like 360us or "56") - this is shown under many different names by different boards sadly but is often listed once for each slot while all other timings are listed just once
do the same with all the ram timings (higher = better, eg 5-5-5-18 for the main four 2T command and so on.

if its still not working with 4 sticks, try using 4 1gb sticks and see if this works ok.
it could jsut be incompatibility with the board the cpu and 4 high density sticks

personally however, i found raising tref fixed my 4 stick issues.
