I have a Asus Striker 2 formula board 780i chipset DDR2 ram and I was wonering if it will take a qx9770? Any advice/ ideas guys please? We are breaking a load of old pc's at work and the one from the boss' office has this chip and I want it as he has no idea of its potential, but will it work on my board?

Asus states on their support list that it will only go up to the Core 2 Quad Q9650, but we all know that pages never get updated as frequently.

I'm sure you won't have any problems

read you wrong. Their support list does include the Core 2 Extreme QX9770, so yeah, fine

Yea its awesome to be honest, god knows why this chip is even in the pc. All we use them for is email!! Anyways im gonna sell my qx6700 now, what sort of value do you think its worth??
