Hey,
Last night I was playing trackmania when all of a sudden it froze. I then ctrl+alt+deleted to close trackmania and the desktop had been reset to the lowest of resolutions accompanied by an error message stating the nvidia display driver had failed. So I immediately thought, "ok just update the drivers and all will be fine", but that wasn't the case. The same thing happened but this time the resolution had not changed and there was no error message. This happens with all games I try to play.
What I've done to try and solve this problem:
- updated drivers, also used older drivers
- reseated gfx card
- ran a memory test
- system restore
- gfx card temperature has been monitor and is not a concern
Now I think it's also worth mentioning that this problem started occuring after I swapped my monitor input from DVI to VGA. I've swapped it back but the problem persists. I'm starting to wonder if I've possibly damaged the gfx card while fiddling around with the different cables.
Any help/advice given is always appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Sean.
