Hey guys going to be upgrading soon and I would love to go Watercooling but i cant justify the money to keep my pc insanely cool when it wont make much difference unless benching etc.

Just wondering if it would be worth getting a H100 with some decent fans or saving up for a proper loop (CPU only to begin)

If its a temporary solution, save your pennies and get an air cooler until you can afford custom water.

May also be worth looking into the OcUK/XSPC/EK watercooling kits.

I believe that's the best air cooler ATM, not 100% sure.

With the high end air coolers, the differences between them are so small, the best option IMO is to get the one that you think is most aesthetically pleasing :D

The h100 cools very well, but to achieve its potential its fans need to be run at full speed and it makes a massive amount of noise when doing so. Even at max speeds it is only just better than the best air cooling, which would also run much quieter than an h100.

On the other hand a good custom loop will crush the h100 in terms of noise and performance. If you can wait you would be much better off saving up. The h100 is overpriced for what it is, and while the full loop will cost significantly more, you really do get what you pay for with watercooling.

If you want some of the work and planning taken away for you, have a look at the ocuk v8 and v12 kits. They are both very good starting points

Hope that helps !

I thought the phanteks cooler had the best performance at the moment? Though as you say, between high end air coolers there is only ever usually a 2 to 4c difference in temps

Cheers guy will probably stick to air, just need to quieten the pc down a little blood Antec 900 makes a ton of noise.

I believe this beats it slightly.

I'm going by vortez's review here though, I may be a bit confused ATM.
