Hey guys, just agreed to buy a pc system off someone today, picking it up tonight, planning on setting it up for my young children with some kids games on, and letting them learn how to use a computer :) it's never too early, they are 2 and 3 !!! Anyway i don't know all the specs yet but its an old one and is only going to cost me 50 pounds for the lot. I think i have a bargain, could be wrong. Heres what i know there is.

AMD Athlon 7850 black edition
Asus M2N68-AM SE2 motherboard
2 gb DDR2 Corsair 800mhz Ram.
160gb Sata Hdd

The rest i don't know what exactly the specs are but i know there is

19 inch monitor ( Not sure on the type ) but is flatscreen of some type
Psu (No idea yet on the brand)
Printer (No idea on the brand)
Case ( No idea of the brand )
Now there is no graphics card, but it does say that is has integrated NVidia graphics card GeForce 7025. Anyone ever heard of this, and will it run kids game for them? or will i have to grab an old card.

The motherboard is Pci E x16 which is a plus.

So what do you guys think, i know its not as much information as people would like before answering a question, but the seller i don't think has a clue. She had it built for her a few years back and has little clue whats in it.

Thanks for any replys.

Looks very basic, but for young children, and for £50, you can't go wrong really.
I did read this
The Nvidia 7025 GPU DOESN'T have hardware acceleration of H.264, VC-1 and MPEG-2 video playback!
So a cheap card would probably be a good idea.

The games they will play are hardly going to be graphics intensive I would think it will be fine. Are you planning to let them use the online educational games? Graphics are very basic.

Honestly I'd look at getting a second hand Nvidia 460GTX (1GB VRAM would be nice). Not only is it a very capable budget gaming GPU (I own one and overclocked it). CUDA support can assist the "ancient" CPU. The CPU is a Black edition so some overclocking can be done depending on that mobo.........never too young to get them started ;)

The PSU needs to be checked really for wattage and connectors. My 460 for example needs dual PCI-E power cables from the PSU. It might sound like overkill but if you can get one cheapish (£40-50) you are essentially giving them something better than an Xbox360 which also "turbo boosts" the CPU for more serious tasks. There is a growing trend for quality Free to play titles so having a decent GPU might not be such a bad idea.

Considering you are getting a screen and printer too, it's a bargain. You cant lose really :)

I have just sold my 2 460 gtx cards mate, and got myself a Evga 670 Sc 4gb. Big move up for me. Yeah if it struggles with the things we want to use it for, ill get a cheap card. Would be a cheaper card than a 460 though.

Will i have problems with this mobo and windows 7 guys?
