What does device manager show?

There appear to be several different brands of network adapter that laptop could have. Have you checked that you're choosing the correct drivers?

Have you double checked that the wireless is enabled? It's not uncommon for people to accidently flick a switch and think that there's a hardware problem.

Just about every laptop I see in the UK market comes with an Atheros adaptor. Also if there are chipset drivers make sure to install them too.

Is the Ethernet driver installed correctly?

I've worked on a client's RV510. I'm about 90% sure I didn't have to install drivers for the WiFi, Win7 had them included.

Uninstall the device from device manager (you need to do this anyway because it says "Unknown Driver"), then reboot.

Three good ways to attack this..

1. Find the hardware ID and Google it.

Device Mangaer, find the device in question.
Details tab
Hardware Ids dropdown

Google the 'VEN_10E&DEV_8186' part, should help point you in the right direction.

2. (Great method when you know there won't be internet until you sort it).

Visit this page..
http://driverpacks.net/driverpacks/latest

Download the torrents for..

32bit..
LAN (ethernet)
WLAN (wireless)

64bit..
LAN (ethernet)
WLAN (wireless)

Extract them with Winrar/7zip to folders like..

32
-LAN
-WLAN

64
-LAN
-WLAN

Now chuck these on a USB key. In device manager, set it to scan the subfolder in question until it finds the driver.

If you've got XP, you can still use this method, but a little more work is involved. You need to create an ISO image of the downloaded folders, then install VirtualCloneDrive or burn it to a disc. As XP can't scan subfolders, it can a CD drive though.

3.

Use Aida64 to scan your hardware, this will essentially do the same as step 1, but will give you a name for each device, instead of just a hardware ID.

.

Methods 1 and 3 require you to find the driver in question afterwards.

Being a Samsung, it's likely to be Atheros or Broadcom you'll have
