Hey all just after a little advice on what to do and what others would do. Me and the mrs recently bought a new samsung 40" H6400 For our bedroom even tho we love the TV our old tv has been demoted for a conservatory. Now our new tv in the bedroom is rigged up to our PC which is mainly used as a HTPC now we watch TV also but we rarely use any of the smart features. Now we are not sure what to do with the tv in the conservatory as its only 720. We was thinking on changing this tv. But we want to use that tv for films and other things but with it only been 720 we want to upgrade but the only problem is upgrading to a Smart tv. We want to be able to browse the net and download films but with a smart TV you are limited on what you can do on them. Any advice on what peeps would do be great

Keep the TV and buy a NUC. or buy a NUC and just get a 1080p tv. If they was a way we could use our pc or connect it any other way to the tv downstairs we would get a better tv and save on the NUC

Buy an Amazon Fire TV (or other suitable streaming box) and stream content from your HTPC in the bedroom to it or use the SMART features such as Amazon Prime Video or Netflix etc. If you find that you're making decent use out of it then you could think about upgrading it at a later date.

Other possibility is that if you want to download and browse in the conservatory is to move the HTPC downstairs then run something like the Amazon Fire TV with Kodi in the bedroom. My setup is not too dissimilar too this. Run a Windows 8.1 HTPC with mediaportal in the living room and stream films and TV shows to upstairs.

Edit. mind you if your conservatory is anything like ours, it'd be unbearably hot in there especially in this weather and probably not the best place to keep a PC.
