I have a problem I am totally clueless on and hope someone can help me with.

A year go I built my own pc (my 2nd) and have had no problems with it until today.

The mobo is an ASUS Rampage V edition 10. I have been using the included Aisuite 3 to control the fans until after a win 10 update today it stopped working and so did one of the fans.

I d/l an updated version off the ASUS site but when it restarted during installation my keyboard and mouse stopped working - leaving me staring at the windows login screen.

I have tried plugging a simple usb keyboard in but even this won’t work other than if I use the safe boot button on the mobo to get me into the bios setup - but when I exit this the keyboard stops working and I am left staring at the login screen again. So totally stuck at this point.

The good news is all the fans are working !

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks for that.

Problem is I have managed to get to the recovery screen but when I go to the startup options screen and hit restart - I don’t get the 2nd screen that lets you choose an option I.e. safe mode - the pc just hangs . Then I reboot and I am back to the no keyboard or mouse problem.

I have tried using the restore point but it fails.

Looks like my only option is to reinstall win 10 which is a bit of a disaster.

Tried that also - fails.

Reading the thread you linked someone else reinstalled aisuite after the win update like me and lost all usb in Windows but got it working after changing in bios but I can’t see how - any ideas ?

Just need 1 usb working in Windows to get past the login

Wonder if the ps2 port might work if I got an usb adaptor ?

Bit of an update for all those siting on the edge of their seats...;)

Found an old ps2 mouse which by using the os keyboard got me past the win 10 login screen

I uninstalled aisuite 3 but still no luck - it refuses to see my usb mouse or keyboard

Have also rolled back the win 10 update but again no usb mouse or keyboard

Au suite3 now works but mouse and keys still no.

Win10 shows an error on various usb hubs but hitting repair just fails to resolve

Any ideas ? Wasted so much time on this now

Yes - I have now realised the front panel usbs work but the ones on the back (i.e straight off the mobo don't) - once I get into windows.

Thx

Deleting the usbs showing the errors and rebooting did the trick ! Didn't need the drivers.

That's most of a weekend I wont get back
