Help Pls! My CD player/radio....

Hi all,
I've got Mondeo with Ford 6000 RDS CD Player and have managed to lose the anti theft detachable key thing which without, does not work.

Can this be replaced at ford dealer or do i need a new cd player now? Help please.....also if it can be replaced, how much is it approx . thanks!
 
yeah but thats a replacement cd player right? Thats one option if i cannot get the detachable key thing replaced at a dealer. hoping that is not too expensive.
 
yes I know, If i need a replacement unit I will not get the same one.

Noowwww back to my main question which is, will i be able to just get the anti theft key thingy replaced somewhere?? im wonderin how much that would cost if possible, not for a new cd player.
 
Best bet is to just phone your local Ford dealer. They'll be able to tell you exactly how much it'll be and from there you can work out what to do.
 
thanks for that link morba. Do you or anyone know if these can just plug into any RDS 6000 radio/cd player and it will work or is there some kind of chip thats needs to be programmed??
 
Your best bet is to send me a SAE envelope with a beer token and I will send you the security panel off of my broken RDS7000 head unit :)
 
so they dont need to be programmed or anything? they just plug right in and work? thats not very good securtiy lol, i thought each radio would only have like one panel that would work with it. Pointless then if someone steals the radio without the panel then can get a replacement easily...duhh
