If your going to be using it for gaming i'd recommend getting the "Radon Allosaur" Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.40GHz Overclocked Bundle
It will save you some ££ towards a better graphics card and you won't notice the difference in games between the two CPUs.

The Asus P8P67 Pro support SLi & Crossfire so it won't limit your graphics choice.

What kind of budget do you have for this build? might help with the rest of the questions :)

well i dont really have a budget just want a good pc for gaming where i dont get fps lag and can play all the new games at full spec. If i can do it for up to around 700 i would be happy at that But if need to it would be more . But also i want it so it will be just as good for some years with new games ect that come out .

So that one you posted . what would suit me for graphics cards . what should i go for ?
Ive got every thing to get yet also case ,psu . so if you have any ideas would be great.

Thanks for your help ;-)

There's an option on the motherboard called OC Genie. Literally all you need to do is activate it, and shazam, there's your 4.4GHz.

Automatic motherboard overclocks tend to use a little more voltage than necessary, and don't hit top clocks, but if you just want a decent, stable OC without doing loads of testing and research, it's brilliant.

hi thanks yes im not up for the messing, so as long as it will run games like cod4 ,black ops and even the old mohaa a breeze im ok . I run a few game servers so its mainly for all them . My old pc is years old and really struggles , so im looking to build some thing that can do them kind of games with great graphics at ease .

Is there anything else i would need other than win7 op. .
any leads or anything . going to order them next tues ,The graphics card you posted is not avalible yet ETA: 04/04/11 so may work out ok if i order nexts tues.

Hi update .. i ordered all the stuff this morning . Not sure when i will get the graphics card as its a pre order .They might have it in before they send every thing out ,I dont know .
thanks again and if i get stuck as its my 1st build no doubt i will be back to ask for help ;-)

Also my partner has a AMD Athlon II X2 220 @ 2800MHz she does a little gaming .
what mobo would be good for this chip and graphics and ram ?

As she dont game that much i would like to keep the athon II any ideas ??

Get the 5850, a cheap AM3 motherboard (880GM-UD2H is the most you should spend, really) and 4 gigs of DDR3 RAM. If it turns out to be too weak, you may need to upgrade the processor later.

If you want to save money, get her a 5670 instead of the 5850, but it's a massive performance drop for the money saved.

she has some DDR 3 ram but how would I know if what's in hers will work in that board . also I just did a search on ocuk and there's 2 of them boards listed . one on offer what's the diffrence ?

not quite, the 880GMA is out of stock.
The one on offer 880GM was the one hybrid recommended. only a few differences;
GM (on offer) doesn't have USB 3.0 or a second PCI 16x lane. Neither would really affect you.
What type of RAM does she have in her PC? on the Gigabyte page theirs a memory support list which you can look through. But its more than likely that it will work fine.

If it turns out to be too weak, you may need to upgrade the processor later.

I'd be worried about this 2. Tri cores aren't looking too bad at the moment for £60.

R088ie's right.

I wouldn't worry about the processor yet, ultimately you can upgrade it at a later stage for no penalty. Still though, we're now at a stage where a slow dual core *will* hold you back.
