I have a ma790fxtud5p mobo.the CPU fan I am using at the mo is big and takes up 2 of my memory slots,I need a CPU cooler for high OC but i want my memory slots back.

Thanks:)

I have the same motherboard and CPU currently using Xigmatek’s Dark Knight, which has enough clearance, but requires removal to use slots 1 & 2, which is not a problem as AMD and Gigabyte recommend you use slots 3 & 4 first to maximise stability when overclocking. According to your CPZ Post, you are using slots 1 & 2.

Your current Cooler has one of the best performances on AMD and is quiet which does not leave you with a lot of choice without increasing temperature and noise. I would only consider the Thermolab BARAM http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-000-TL&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=1395 with two
Noctua 120 mm fans http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-007-NC or
Apache 120 mm fans http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-057-AK&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=4 or
my top priority upgrade the ‘Big Daddy’; Noctua NH-D14 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-011-NC&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=1395.

Do not worry about the weight of the NH-D14 your Motherboard’s Ultra Durable 3 design is sturdy enough to cope. All reviews confirm it is the best air cooler you can buy.

Thanks for the reply, I need to update me cpuz that was done with a Eco water cooler but that whent bang lol. So it's best to use slots 3-4 dident no that,so I should just keep this cooler then, but it's so big and I want to get 4 more gig of ram. what should I do then

Yes, however the NH-D14 has the best clearance, check out this link.

Is there any mouting system that can make my heat sink fan go east to west because at the mo my fan is at the bottom .I want is on the side so air goes out the back of me case. If this mobo http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-398-AS will let my CPU cooler have all my ram fitted then I will just get this, dose any one no if this mobo will let me do this

Depends on the Ram your using really, any with high fins is obviously no go.

I used to used the MA790FXT-UD5P with the TRUE 120 Black Edition any ram that does not have high fins will work such as OCZ Gold/Platinums, Geil Value, Corsair XMS3 I think . .

As mentioned the Corsair H50 can use any ram you wish, as the cooler fitting is totally different, I also used one of these but get better temps with a TRUE 120 Black Edition even when the fan is on low.

The Gelid Tranquilo would probally work too because the cooler + fan face front to back of your case, so maybe more room but don't quote me.
