"I have had an issue 3 times when starting up my computer, I press the power button , the fans/lights come on for about 5 seconds then it shuts down then like 2 seconds later it starts up again and boots fully."

After reading a few posts if think I have came up with the reason this was happening.

when my computer starts up it dose not account for the extra power usage for the overclock (3.3ghz -4.4ghz) making it turn its self off.

I have removed the overclock and have not had the problem again as of yet but it had only happened 3 times in 3 months.

I was just wondering if this sounds like a plausible solution, or if anyone else had the same problem (running an OC'd processor)

thanks

Motherboard is a P67A-UD3-B3
the PSU is OCZ Stealth extreme 2 600w
RAM 4 GB corsair vengence 1600mhz
MSI gtx 460
Corsair H50 cooler

the pc is OC'd to 4.4ghz

seems I was right ish

"I'm not too sure about intel chips, but cpu spread spectrum in AMD chips help stability (in some cases) by adding a little extra voltage when needed. Obviously, you don't need to use it, but sometimes it does help. Personally I turn it off if I'm trying to get my max OC though."
