Hope someone can help me here.
Friend has a G4 powerbook running OS X 10.3. Not looked a the problem myself but from the reports apparently the mouse stopped working and now the machine fails to boot at all, just hanging with a blank screen.
I know virtually nothing about Macs so don't know what on earth to do
A network card driver was installed the other day which worked perfectly at the time but is the only thing that's recently changed so I suppose this could be the culprit. It could also be a total coincidence but I'm thinking this driver is more likely.
What on earth can I do? I don't mind ditching the driver, as we can live without it, but as I can't get the machine to start up I can't remove it. Does OS X have a Windows-style "safe mode" I can boot into? Anything else I can try short of telling him to contact a Mac specialist (at huge expense no doubt).
Any help appreciated, bit desperate here
