Accidentally deleted a whole 18 months worth of photos stored in two folders. I've done a System Restore and the photo folders and sub folders have reappeared but no files are in them. Checked the recycle bin and the photos are not in there either.

I did try running a programme I downloaded, PCI (PC Inspector I think) left it on all night and it recovered individual photos but it took hours to recover about 100 photos none of which were the ones I need. Is there a programme which will scan my drive for deleted folders/files then allow me to select which ones I want it to recover? Or is there another way of recovering the pictures?

Any help much appreciated!!

The files were on my remote back up drive so hopefully they won't be too affected as the OS etc is on a seperate physical drive.
I was hoping there might be a freeware programme that could scan for deleted files and list them so that I could choose which ones to restore?? PC Inspector restores and renames all the files it finds!

Thanks for your help guys. Finally used a program called Recuva. Absolutely brilliant. Found all deleted .jpg files in a couple of minutes listed by folder so I was easily able to recover the lost photos. A dozen or so on one drive were unrecoverable but did a "deep" scan of another drive that I had stored the photos on previously and it found them all! Highly recommended bit of freeware.
