help projecting screen onto two monitors

dear all

please can you help me with this problem.

Just bought two Dell U2719D monitors which I’d like to use with my home PC and work laptop. Only have HDMI out on the laptop and HDMI and VGA on the PC. Laptop is a IBM think pad and PC is based around a
Gigabyte GA-Z87-D3HP.

how can I project onto both monitors when I’m using either the laptop or PC? I’d prefer to use the hdmi out from either machine to make life simple if possible.

Sounds like a docking station would sort that out, right?

I don't believe you'd be able to, you'd need an additional port on your laptop to run the second monitor.

That's why most people who use multiple monitors from a laptop also have a Dock. I think my dock can plug into three separate monitors.

Can't see why not. Never tried a dock with a desktop as there isn't much need but I can't see what would stop it working.

I use a few of these as well as genuine Dell ones but they always seem to do the trick.
