*Help PS3/360 to monitor/speakers

Argh this friggen annoys the hell out of me why can't everything use a simple 3.5mm audio jack

My problem having a 360/PS3 round 2mo, I have a PC monitor, a hdmi cable and input BUT speakers are separate and they use a 3.5mm audio jack. So somehow I need to get a audio jack and the consoles red/white audio cables to mate.

Ideas I suppose this isn't going to work unless I buy a friggen convertor

EDIT: I suppose I need a female 3.5 audio jack and female white/red, wow mission impossible!

thats the same set up i use,you can either plug in head phones or some pc speakers, even better if your speakers allow you to plug in headphones into them
