HELP! q6600 only showing 2 cores?

HI, ive just upgraded from an e6600 to a q6600, installatiom went well i also reset my bios and made sure all cores were enabled but using the features below i dont think the other to cores are being seen. also coretemp still thinks theres an e6600 in there. Any idea folks? :confused:

Thats a rather old version you have there install the latest CPUZ 148 and you will be fine

I wouldn't bother flashing it again. It's an extra risk. Does the BIOS show it up as a Q6600? Have you tried re-installing Windows?

Yes the bios show q6600 4x cores, didnt really want to do a reinstall, ive got to much stuff i need on the drive

Backup what you need to keep. Windows is sometimes funny when changing hardware

You could try using the windows repair function on the dvd.

Another option just to check is connect a old hard drive up to your machine and do an install on that just too see

Did you clear the CMOS back to default BIOS settings before you swapped the CPUs it may be the problem i don't think windows is the problem because it shows C2Q in system rating

Sorry, been to tescos.
Ive tryed all of the above bar a windows reinstall.
Strange that coretemp still sees it as en e6600
