Help, i've got a flat tyre on my MG ZR. I need to take the wheel off, ive got the locking wheel nut thing but there seems to be some sort of cover on it, how do I take it off?

You need a small flathead screwdriver or pair of plyers to grip the cover.

Can be a bit fiddly to get off, but give it a bit of a wiggle and it should come lose.

I know locking wheel nuts are supost to prevent people from nicking your wheels but ive heard they dont really do anything and the people that want your wheels will get them if they want because they know how to get the locking wheel nuts off anyway.

Is that true?

Depends on the brand of locking nut, and how determined and equipped the thief is.
It stops the opportunist.

Yeah, its possible to get most locking nuts off without trouble. 90% of the time hammering a deep socket over them will be enough.
