I want to put in some LEDs in my glove box and in the footwells of my car, however, i'm kinda unsure how i'd power these (or more, how i'd get the 12v line)

How does everyone else get 12v Lines off their electrics, is there any way i can strip wire and connect up to a junction box/inverter which i can then use to power the lights?

i've got a 2000 suzuki swift if that makes any difference?

ok. i'm trying to keep it hidden from view so cigarette socket is out of the question.

anyone know of any good tutorials, guidance steps?

The LED wires can go straight onto the wires which turn your head lamps on/off *i think* so when you turn your lights on, they come on etc.

What he said.

You should be able to link the wires in as has been stated, into the cig-lighter wires, but if you only want them for night time you can splice the wires into the lights so they only come on/are able to come on when the lights are on.

I used to have some LEDs in my footwell, which I think I just rigged up to the battery or something, and a hidden switch on the dash.

I also wired in some fog lights which I put onto the sidelight loom, so that they fogs could only come on if the sidelights were on. I also had a switch on the dash, to make them come on when I needed and not all the time.

Take it off the back of the cigarette lighter socket, it's fused, and tied in to turn on and off with the car nicely (depending on how smart the car is).

Do check the LEDs to make sure they're in series with the correct resistor for 12V-14V, otherwise the current draw is out of control.
