Help recommend games!!

The Longest Journey looks like a birds game from footage I've seen. Can you elaborate on it a bit for me??

Point and click fantasy adventure, great story and really enjoyable adventuring, one of the best adventure games made imo. Really nice atmosphere with lots of contrasting areas to explore, puzzles generally easy but some require a bit of head scratching, I can't personally remember being frustrated or stuck at any particular point in the game, it seemed to flow well. Definitely worth a try.
 
Longest Journey, long time since I've played it but from what I can remember its a very good story and got great reviews when it came out and there is a demo. You play as a female character set in a futuristic world but get drawn into saving an alternative world.
What about the Broken Sword series - again good stories, or the Gabriel Knight games that someone linked on GOG the other day
